Easiest Vegan Donuts

Did you know that you could turned canned biscuits into donuts? Who knew?! This seriously delicious and incredibly easy recipe takes 10-15 minutes from start to finish. And guess what else? You likely have everything you need to make these delicious donuts in your kitchen right now.

What you need:

1 Can Dairy Free Biscuits (I like Annie's Brand; Pillsbury also has a dairy & egg free option; be sure to read your ingredient labels!)

1 Cup Granulated Sugar

1-2 TBSP Cinnamon

Oil for Frying

1 Can makes 8 donut holes + 8 donuts

Let's Do This:

Heat your oil in a deep skillet or deep fryer. Ideal temp is 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl that has a lid, whisk together the cinnamon and sugar. Set Aside.

While your oil is heating up open up your biscuits and flatten each of them a bit between your hands so that they are even and not lopsided. Lay them out on a cutting board or your work surface of choice.

Using a biscuit cutter or circular tool of choice cut out the center of each biscuit; this will create your donut shape. The centers of the biscuits can be used as donut holes!

When your oil is ready drop your donut holes straight in. They will float to the top so be sure not to walk away from them; you will need to flip them a few times so that they cook evenly on all sides. Cook until golden brown.

Carefully remove the donut holes from oil and place them on a paper towel lined dish. Allow a bit of the excess oil to drain off for a minute or two. Next, place all of the holes into the cinnamon sugar mixture and cover with lid. Gently shake them up until they are all coated. Transfer to a separate dish.

Repeat these same steps with your donuts. Be sure not to over crowd your fryer so each donut has enough room to cook and so you also have enough room to flip them in the oil; this will ensure each donut is cooked evenly and to perfection!

Enjoy!
